The Kumejima Firefly Association aims to protect the Kumejima fireflies and the native creatures that connect to them, and to preserve a healthy ecosystem, including our humans.

Firefly Hall Night Tour
Explore the firefly building and surrounding forests and rivers at night, relying solely on the light of the lights. After the Kumejima firefly in early spring, the Kuroiwa firefly and Okinawa Suji firefly in early summer, and the creatures that appear in each season teach us the fun and importance of nature.

Yajagama Cave Exploration
Yajagama is the largest of the many limestone caves on Kumejima.
First, you will be given a lecture on the origins of the cave at the Firefly Museum before heading to the actual site, which will make your exploration even more enjoyable.
You will walk through the darkness like on an underground expedition, discovering traces of ancient customs and the wonders of living things connected to the global environment.
